2024: A Year of Impact, Innovation, and Growth at Global Voice Group
As we close the chapter on 2024, Global Voice Group (GVG) reflects on a transformative year filled with milestones that have solidified our position as a leader in regulatory technology. From groundbreaking achievements in financial compliance to thought leadership in digital governance, this year has reinforced our commitment to empowering governments and fostering economic growth across Africa and beyond.
2024 in Review
Throughout the year, GVG demonstrated its commitment to leveraging data as a catalyst for progress. Our CEO, James Claude, emphasized at the Global Symposium for Regulators in Kampala that “data is the cornerstone of the digital economy”. This message resonates across all our initiatives, as we continue to equip governments and regulators with actionable insights that foster financial inclusion, reduce fraud, and enable data-driven decision-making.
This dedication to data-driven solutions is exemplified by our recognition on the Africa RegTech Horizon-100 list stands as a testament to our pivotal role in Africa’s regulatory technology space, which is set to reach a $1 billion market size by 2025. At the heart of this recognition is our Mobile Money Monitoring (M3) solution, an intelligent platform enabling regulatory authorities to oversee the rapidly expanding mobile money ecosystem. M3 has proven instrumental in promoting transparency, compliance, and revenue assurance, with over $90 billion in transactions verified annually across East Africa and $1 trillion analyzed globally since 2014. Its impact extends to countries like the Republic of Congo, where it provides 100% visibility into utility payments, and Ghana, where it has contributed to a 20% average annual revenue growth.
In addition to M3, our innovative platforms, including the Telecommunications Intelligent Monitoring System (TIMS) and the Data Monitoring System (DMS) in Uganda, have significantly enhanced tax compliance, helping the Uganda Revenue Authority surpass its collection targets by over UGX 2.1 trillion. These successes underscore the importance of public-private partnerships in unlocking Africa’s revenue potential and advancing digital governance.
This year, we shared our expertise across various platforms, offering insights into the role of data governance, mobile positioning data, and regulatory harmonization in shaping Africa’s digital future. Notable highlights include our participation in the 2024 RegTech Africa Canfab and thought-provoking interviews with our CTO, Laurent Sarr, and CDO, Edouard Docteur, discussing the intersection of technology, transparency, and governance.
These efforts have addressed a key theme of 2024 has been addressing the data trust gap that hinders the adoption of digital financial services in Africa. As our Chief Delivery Officer, Edouard Docteur, highlighted, fostering trust is essential for driving financial inclusion and economic growth. Through technologies like machine learning and advanced analytics, GVG has been at the forefront of creating a trustworthy digital financial ecosystem that empowers users and stakeholders alike.
As we step into 2025, our mission remains clear: to empower governments with cutting-edge tools that ensure regulatory compliance, enhance transparency, and promote economic growth. We will continue to develop scalable solutions that address emerging challenges, from improving data governance to fostering innovation in digital ecosystems.
Our achievements this year would not have been possible without the dedication of our talented team and the trust of our clients, partners, and stakeholders. Your support and collaboration fuel our vision of a more transparent, inclusive, and data-driven future.
As we celebrate the close of 2024, we extend our warmest holiday wishes to the Global Voice Group community. May the coming year bring innovation, growth, and opportunities to create lasting impact together.
Warm regards,
The Global Voice Group Team
