The digitization of government services represents a significant shift in the way governments fulfill their remits. In this interview published by The Standard, James Claude, GVG’s CEO, describes digitization as a way for governments to enhance efficiency and data-driven decision-making, and to promote digital identities. These benefits are evident from the examples he provides of successful digitization initiatives in Africa. They are however dependent on the bridging of the digital gap, implementing regulatory harmonization, developing digital infrastructure, and creating partnerships, among other key factors.
