URA’s Rujoki Meets GVG CEO to Strengthen Telecoms’ Tax Compliance

Uganda Revenue Authority (URA)’s Commissioner General John Rujoki Musinguzi recently held a meeting with GVG’s CEO, James Claude, to explore ways of strengthening tax compliance within Uganda’s telecommunications sector. The discussions centered on enhancing collaboration to address the existing compliance gaps by leveraging advanced data collection technologies and improving data-sharing mechanisms. The focus was on driving greater transparency, accuracy, and efficiency in the monitoring of telecoms and data-dependent companies. By working together, GVG and URA aim to not only ensure compliance with the country’s tax regulations but also support the sustainable growth of Uganda’s telecom industry. This partnership, which has been ongoing since 2020, underscores the shared commitment to utilizing innovative solutions to optimize tax revenue collection, while upholding the highest standards of integrity and regulatory compliance.
